Madison is a small Kansas community, bursting with charm, nestled in the Verdigris Valley. Madison is a hidden treasure waiting to be discovered. With a rich history in agriculture, oil and railroads, many have worked to preserve the heritage of Madison's history and share it with others. As part of that preservation, the Santa Fe Depot was restored and is now a museum that is a tribute to the history of Madison and the surrounding area. With the help of local volunteers and the Historical Society, visitors can learn about the founding years of this little town in the valley.
The Number Eight School House, located just east of Madison, has been renovated as a museum dedicated to the memory of one-room schools that were an important part of our history. Madison is a community with strong values and a belief in the future. Madison offers religious choices with eight area churches. Senior citizens also play a vital role in our community. Madison Senior Center offers activities and meals to area seniors.
